By now you probably know that I don’t subscribe to dieting, diet culture, or the latest “lifestyle change”.

Diets (or strict and rigid meal plans), don’t work.  Period.

My whole approach with ALL of my clients is helping them to understand what their unique body needs.

With nutrition, it can be hard to know what works and what doesn’t.  There is so much nutrition dogma out there, how are we suppose to know what’s best for our body?  How do we know what diet we should be eating?

I’m here to tell you that you already know what truly works best for you. 

You may say, “Well then what the hell do you even do Andrea?  I have no idea what REALLY works for my body which is why I’m feeling overwhelmed, anxious, tired and crappy all around.  I have no energy and know that I need to eat better which is why I am reading your email! YOU are the nutrition expert, not me! What the hell?!?”

I get it!  Sometimes we really don’t intellectually know what works best for our body, but YOU really are the expert of your own body.  The body tells you every day through the little messages it sends in the form of symptoms.

You know, like not having any energy…..that’s a message from your body that something isn’t working.

But when you CONSTANTLY have no energy (or any other symptom, like brain fog or bloating), how are you suppose to know what the problem is, or what foods are working with your body and which aren’t?

Your body knows, but it is struggling to get you to listen.

It’s like the radio, you can’t hear the music if all you hear is static.  We need to “clear the static” in your body so that your body’s station can come in clearer and you can hear those ever important messages.

Whats the solution?

An elimination diet.

(cue the Jim Gaffigan voice)

“But Andrea, didn’t you say diets don’t work? You aren’t making any sense!”

Let’s be clear.  It’s not a diet for weight loss and there is NO calorie restriction.

This is literally the ONLY time that a “diet” works, but it’s because the goal is different.

The goal is to figure out what works for your unique body.

An elimination diet is a way for you to “clear the static”.  For you to tune into what YOUR body really needs.
